The 2 September 2011, marked an important date in the history of Legae
Securities. Legae proudly celebrated 15 years in the marketplace at a
trendy venue in the heart of Johannesburg. The evening was a celebration
of the milestone achieved but also a reflection of the past successes
and history of Legae.

Legae was established shortly after South Africa’s first democratic
elections in 1994. It was a time of celebration and hope, a time for
change, and in 1996 Legae entered the path of unchartered
territories to become the first black owned and managed stock broking
firm registered as a member of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

After an eventful 15 years, Legae stands proud of the business, having
played an important role in transformation in the industry, learnt and
continues to learn many valuable lessons, grown and struggled through
tough markets, embraced change and looks forward to the next 15 years of
wisdom, creativity and innovation in the business.
